Review: BeeYoutiful

I love it when I get non-school related products to review! It keeps things fresh and interesting. :)

This review is all about my experience with a natural health/beauty products company called BeeYoutiful.

BeeYoutiful derives its name from one of their main ingredients: bee pollen. Now of course, not every product contains bee pollen, but it sure does lend itself to a rather catchy moniker, wouldn’t you say?

As part of the TOS Homeschool Crew, I received their Milk & Honey Facial BarFacialBarLarge1_1_1_thumb[1] for review.

The Milk & Honey Facial Bar consists of “Two natural treasures in one bar of soap (which) help repair sores, fight acne, soothe chapping, and balance uneven or oily skin. Bee products—honey, propolis, pollen and wax—meet goat milk to clean up the toughest skin problems you can muster.”

It contains: Raw Goat Milk, Distilled Water, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Vegetable Oil, Sodium Hydroxide (lye), Raw Honey, Bee Pollen, Bee Propolis, Beeswax, Sweet Orange Essential Oil

With my monthly acne flare-ups (thank you, lousy genetics), dry patches resulting from other acne medications, and extreme sensitivity to fragrance, oils and whatever else you can think of, I was eager to put this product to the test. ;o) I figured if it worked, it’d be a miracle in itself.

What I first noticed about the bar was the odd smell. It kind of reminded me of feet. Not the cute baby kind, either. I couldn’t detect the sweet orange oil at all. But once I lathered it up, the funky smell completely evaporated. Nice!

The lather itself is rich and foamy and felt really nice on my skin. It didn’t irritate, burn or sting. (Something I’m used to experiencing with other facial cleansers.) Additionally, it rinsed off well and didn’t leave any slimy or drying residue behind, whatsoever. (Wow!)

Afterwards, my skin looked and felt clean. Not shiny, not red, not dry or tight. Just clean and balanced.…goodness! (Now I was really getting excited!)

I continued to use the facial bar every morning/night for a full month. I noticed how “normal” my skin looked and every time a little blemish dared to show up, it never got bigger than a tiny dot.

Always being one to push the envelope just a smidge, I decided to pull out all the stops last night and eat (horrors!) junk food. Now normally this sort of indulgence always—and I mean always—leads to a break out. I don’t care what you’ve read or what you believe. If I eat a handful of Doritos, a Twix bar, or a piece of cake—I pay for it in the form of extra calories and a pimple or three. Every single time.

This time was, unfortunately, no exception. HOWEVER…I am pleased to report that the acne seems significantly less “angry” looking and not nearly as large in size.

Hmm…I think the good folks at BeeYoutiful have a new lifetime customer on their hands!

The Milk & Honey Facial Bar is available in two sizes:

  • 1.75 oz  for $5
  • or 4.25 oz for $10. The larger bar (the one I received) actually comes shaped like a cute little beehive. ;)

I can’t say enough good things about this product. Not only am I extremely impressed with its performance, but it’s a HUGE savings in comparison to other OTC acne or other skin care product lines. I was having to buy my other facial wash every 3.5 weeks, but even after a full month of use, my little “beehive” isn’t even half gone! Woohoo!

I’m very pleased to award this product two thumbs up! :)
