Book Review: Divanomics

In her latest book “Divanomics”, best-selling author, Michelle McKinney Hammond provides readers with a fun, first-hand account of her riches to rags to middle class story!

Using Scripture as its foundation laced up with plenty of “You go, girl!” humor, Divanomics—How to Still Be Fabulous When You’re Broke is a must-read for any “diva” whose bank account has bottomed out.

Whether you’ve shopped ‘til you dropped, or are simply a victim of today’s sketchy economic climate, Michelle provides plenty of tips, suggestions, and thought-provoking questions to help get you back on track—and stay there.

Although her suggestions are wonderful--using coupons, selling your clothes at consignment shops, not using credit cards, cutting non-essentials—I found myself thinking, “But I already do that!”. Because of this, I felt this book was written primarily with the newbie in mind. However, I will admit that it was comforting to know that everything I’m doing is “by the book”, so to speak! :o]

(Oh and FYI…Chapter 29: Wal-Mart, Tar-Jay and Other Exotic Locales is my personal fave!)
